Garment Care

Keep your THHactive sportswear looking as fresh and vibrant as the day you bought them. Follow our step-by-step guide for optimal care and ensure your gym clothes maintain their peak condition wash after wash.

Garment Care Do's

DO turn your sportswear inside out for washing

To ensure the important areas where sweat and dirt primarily accumulate are properly cleaned. Washing inside out helps eliminate odour-causing bacteria and preserves the fabric and colour, keeping your activewear in tip-top condition for longer.

DO avoid washing your gym gear with embellished or linty clothes

Mixing your workout clothes with heavy materials in the washing machine can damage your sportswear by wearing down or tearing your activewear's more delicate fabric, reducing its quality and longevity.

DO extend the lifespan and maintain the shape of your activewear

By washing your tights and shorts in protective mesh washing bags. Wash bags safeguard your garments from snagging and tangling, keeping them in pristine condition wash after wash

Garment Care Dont's

DON'T let sweaty sportswear linger

Neither in your gym bag or pile up in the laundry basket. Moist environments are ideal for bacteria growth, so instead, hang your damp activewear in a well-ventilated area to dry to prevent bacterial buildup.

DON'T leave your gym gear in the washing machine overnight

Allowing clothes to sit damp for extended periods can lead to a buildup of mildew, which produces an unpleasant odour and can degrade the fabric's integrity over time, which reduces your activewear's lifespan.

DON'T wear wet or damp activewear to the gym

As moisture can irritate the skin. Additionally, when your body expends extra energy to stay warm, it's less equipped to fend off illnesses, making you more susceptible to colds and the flu.

Size Chart

How to measure yourself
Georgia Knight from THHactive wearing an oversized tshirt and gym shorts, whilst practicing pilates on a reformer.
1.

Measure your chest

Find the fullest part of your chest, just under your armpits. Wrap the tape measure around yourself, and breathe normally. Take your measurements without tightening or pulling the tape.
2.

Measure your waist

Identify your natural waistline by bending to one side—where your body creases is your natural waist. Stand straight and wrap the tape measure around this point. The tape measure should be flat against your skin but not winched in too tightly.
3.

Measure your hips

Locate the fullest part of your hips, typically around 7 to 9 inches below your natural waist. Ensure the tape measure is level all the way around and measure at your widest point.
4.

Measure your leg length

Start at your waist on your outer side and measure straight down to your ankle bone. Ensure the tape is tight along the inside of your leg for the most precise measurement.

FAQs

Q. Can I iron my activewear?

While you can safely iron THHactive T-shirts using a low heat setting, we advise against ironing our hoodies, shorts, or leggings. These items are made from fabrics that may be damaged by high temperatures. If you need to remove wrinkles, we recommend lying your sportswear flat to dry or using a garment steamer on a low setting.

Q. Do you have anywhere I can try things on?

We sure do! You can visit us at our Pilates studio, The Helping Hand Pilates, in Broadford, Victoria.

Q. Are your leggings designed for compression?

Our leggings are designed to offer a snug, second-skin fit that optimises comfort and flexibility, making them perfect for a wide range of activities. However, they are not explicitly designed to provide compression. Consider exploring specialised compression wear if you're looking for benefits such as enhanced blood flow and muscle support.

Q. What fabric or material are your leggings made of?

Our leggings are made from a high-quality blend of nylon, spandex, or polyester, depending on the style. This combination ensures that our leggings stretch to fit snugly against your body while being flexible with a full range of motion, allowing you to move freely and comfortably during any activity.
